Build Your Own Custom Road Glide 1990-1995 BASIC Ape Hangers Handlebar DIY kit

NOTICE: Fits all Road Glide 1990-1995

You will receive a basic package that includes:
  • The Handlebars of your choice
  • Cables and Brake Lines sized to correct length to fit your bike
  • Your choice of finish Chrome or Black
  • Wiring Extensions to make your wiring fit this kit.

Our stainless braided cables have chrome ends and a UV resistant plastic armor coat to protect your paint and keep them looking good for a long time. Our wire extensions are color coded to match your factory wiring and includes all the extensions needed for Radio, Cruise and CB factory options. We do have the lower ABS Brake line available in our store if you want to change it out to match the Upper. This kit is for Dual Front Disc brakes and will not work with Harley heated grips unless you choose that option. Due to the variety of applications, we do not have specific instructions with each kit. We recommend that you purchase a Harley Davidson service manual for your bike if you don't have one. Please read this description in it's entirety for complete information.

This package includes everything you need to put apes on your Road Glide, except for the labor and the items listed in the Handlebar Installation Kit.

The BASIC handlebar kit DOES NOT come pre-wired. It requires soldering the extensions to extend your wiring to fit the handlebars. And it DOES NOT included handlebar controls. The idea for the BASIC package is to save you money by allowing you to use the controls from the handlebars you are replacing and do the wiring yourself. You can do this in about 6-9 hours with the help of a couple buddy's and your favorite ice cold beverage.

We use these same parts to put apes on bikes in our shop in about 5 hours, so we definitely know what you need to pull it off. This package will fit 1997-2013 Harley Touring FLHR and FLTR models.

Unless you decide to change the recommended handlebars used in this kit, you will receive a set of 1 1/4 inch 14 inch Hill Country Custom Cycles' ape hangers with all of the stainless cables and brake lines to fit these apes.

  • 1 1/4" Diameter high-grade steel tubing
  • Designed for early and late model HD stock 1" controls
  • Mounting section is 1" in diameter
  • Dimpled and drilled for internal wiring
  • Hand polished and beautifully chrome finished
  • Width: 37.0", Center Width: 9.5"
  • Height: 14.0", Pullback:7.5"

Stainless Steel Braided cables come in the correct length for your specific application. They have chrome plated ends and Armor Coat over the stainless braid to keep from scratching your paint, and to keep the stainless looking good for a long time.

ABS models only require brake line replacement from the master cylinder to the ABS block. We have the stainless lower line kit available for $89.95 if you prefer.
